84 WHAS is a radio station in Louisville, Kentucky USA that has covered the Kentuckiana area since July 1922. I often listened at night during the 80’s & 90’s to a show called “Joe Donovan’s Rock-N-Roll Revival.” Now an all talk station owed by Clear Channel, WHAS was a favorite for music listeners back in the day. This time around we will pick up some Christmas broadcast nuggets from around the eighties including a WHAS audio production of “A Christmas Carol” featuring air personalities of the day. My man Joe Donovan is amongst the players. If memory serves, WHAS would make these programs available by cassette to benefit local charities. I am happy to own one of those productions that I purchased by mail some time ago. In addition, there is a 1968 air check from station WLRS (another station broadasting to the Louisville area) at this link as well. The site states that these special Christmas files are available for a limited time. I just stumbled upon this today (June 2010) and encountered no problems downloading all six files. So, dig in and enjoy! - lkyradio.com/christmas.htm

January 17, 2011 A very good day to you MMC Platinum Memebers who still remember or have just discovered where these archived threads are stashed! I sure would like to hear from you if you are reading this too! It's okay to post it in the "Secret" thread or send me a pm at MMC. Look back at the post before this to see what may be coming for future Rudolph Days too! Okay, here is January Rudolph Day a week in advance, just for you!: Happy January Rudolph Day, the first of eleven for 2011! www.bmbx.org/www.bmbx.org/tag/christmas-tunes/This month we'll visit a podcast site called Boom Box. As I understand, members contribute custom podcasts for a variety of "mixes" with something for everyone's taste. Boom Box has been in existance long enough to have twenty-five (at this post time) archived Christmas podcasts! So, clear out some hard drive space and get busy! WARNING: Some material not suited for children or the easily offended! Feel free to profile (here) any specific podcast(s) that catch your attention! We could probably stop here and be set for 2011. However, we'll be back in February; or sooner if anyone finds something to share. As always, we don't have to wait for my posts!

Good Third Rudolph Day 2011! Only eight more to go!
Public Radio WFMU in Jersey City, New Jersey is just about a clearinghouse for the odd and obscure. Christmas music is no exception.
For March 2011 Rudolph Day we will again visit WFMU. By scrolling down to December 2010 & then to December 2009, we find nine, count' 'em, nine Christmas podcasts from Bitslap with KBC. Playlists are included for those that want to follow along while listening. Just don't while driving! KBC plays some cool out of print stuff!
Warning! Some material may not be suited for children and the easily offended.
